Emerging from anesthesia, county prosecutor Katie DeMaio witnesses what she prefers to believe is a nightmare induced by her physical condition - a familiar figure carrying a woman's body into his car in the middle of the night. The woman is found dead the next day and deemed a suicide, but Katie is determined to uncover the real cause.
